Chris,
Happy Birthday! I hope you have a great day with your family and friends. I want to share a story with you that has stuck with me for many years. Sometime in junior high school, Robert had me and a bunch of his other friends over for a birthday party. It was a sleepover, and we were gearing up to watch a movie. A lot of the boys suggested Gladiator, which I had never seen since I was not allowed to watch rated R movies. I did not have the courage to make that fact known since everyone seemed excited about it. I remember you asking if everyone had seen it before, and when I said no, you called my parents to see if it was ok. They said no, and you picked a different movie for everyone. At the time I think I was just happy to have avoided making that call myself. Now, I really appreciate that you were willing to care enough about me to go to all that effort to make sure I was following my parents rules. You went the extra mile. God has made you into a very caring man; I hope you are proud of that.
I have also been amazed at the work you are doing now to spread the gospel. The occasional post I see on facebook signals how much your Montana time means to you and your family as I am sure it impacts those men who join you out there. Where the word of God is spoken, it does not return void. I believe these impacted lives will be your legacy. May God give you even more grace and wisdom in your dealings with all those around you, and may your love for him grow daily.
Again, happy birthday!
